TATT MART TATTOO ITINERARY
Please read your tattoo itinerary.
Our aim is to make your feel seen, heard, cared about, and comfortable in our studio as you get your tattoo.
Adam is a visual designer and artist, who has been tattooing for 8+ years.
Tommy is a painter, photographer, visual artist and tattooing since 2023.
We have been together since 2012, and both share affinity for the arts, music and the stage.
TATT MART is an experience we are very proud to curate together, and we’re looking forward to hosting you!
1. Logistics:
The address is:
291 C Echo Ave Sound Beach, NY
Before Tattoo/After Tattoo:
Eat before your session and bring comfortable clothes that give us access to the body part we’re tattooing. After tattoo you will keep it clean and use ointment like aquaphor or a&d for three days and then switch to lotion/coconut oil, you will cover your tattoo in the sun and prevent soaking in water like bath/pool/saltwater for 7-14 days.
What to Wear:
Dress comfortably in clothing that allows access to the body part you’d wish to tattoo. Bring clothes that can help you see the tattoo for example a bathing suit for torso placements, and a hoodie to wear over the front for a back piece. For torso placement, we do provide nipple covers, and recommend bringing a baggy T-shirt and Zipper Hoodie type sweatshirt as well.
What to Bring:
You may bring a light snack and a water. Please bring your photo ID to properly consent to the procedure. I provide music of your choice, but if you need a distraction you may bring headphones, hand held games or a fidget toy.
Arriving:
Arrive on time, not early. You are welcome to wait in your car until the time of your appointment, or you can come in to use the restroom if you’re early and we are here. (We could be out to lunch between sessions) If I’m running late from previous clients, I will e-mail you and ask for a delayed start. If you’re running a few minutes late just e-mail me to let me know your eta.
Parking:
Please park in front of the studio parallel style. If that spot is unavailable, there is a parking lot by the Barber Shop right on the property that you may also use.
Company:
You may bring guests with you. If they are interested in getting tattooed there will be opportunities to ask questions, feel the vibe and book an appointment.
Please let me know by e-mail before hand if you’re bringing someone and remember they will be an ingredient of your session just as much as you and I.
Payment:
The booking system is RUN by PayPal but it accepts All Credit Cards during check out. The $100 deposit is non refundable and goes toward your final price.
The rest is PAID IN CASH after the tattoo is made.
The session starts when you arrive and ends when I am done tattooing.
I work at $250 an hour. If I don’t use the whole hour I do not charge the whole hour.
I am not able to work for longer than 4 hours at a time, and I will let you know if your tattoo needs more than 1-2 hours at booking.
2. Unique Studio Experience:
We are a very unique tattoo studio on Long Island.
We are LGBTQIA+ owned. 🏳️🌈
We create a collaborative space and create the tattoo specifically for your skin and your self expressed personal style.
Tattoos here are made uniquely for you and often with you in an organic collaboration.
Our aim is to create a safe, calm space to make room for questions, personal additions that make the tattoo uniquely yours, as well as making you completely comfortable. We love customizing the room with music and sounds that make you feel good, and for long sessions we can play your favorite show or movie.
If we need personal space or privacy, we will use room dividers around your station and provide complete isolation from the rest of the studio. The studio is not generally busy with people, we book by appointment and rarely have anyone coming in randomly to check us out.
3. Design Process:
THERE ARE MULTIPLE WAYS WE WORK NOW AT TATT MART.
Adam works in person with your skin assessing shape, design and style, bringing your idea to life in person. You will not be getting designs sent before the session.
(Adam also offers consultations, character, and design sessions that aren’t tattoo sessions.)
Tommy works with a custom flash sheet based on your idea. You will receive your custom flash sheet of 3-5 designs after your e-mail communication and before you book the design of your choice.
Both Tommy and Adam offer FLASH- original, collectible designs that are ready to book.
A word from Adam on his custom process:
I’ve got an understanding of what you’re looking to work on at the tattoo session and I will prepare myself by getting present to your session the day before and/or the morning of our session.
Often, you will also find more to say to me about what you want between booking and the appointment, so it really works best to sit down the day of and finalize the stencils together.
The canvas of my art is your skin and I need it in front of me to work. The canvas moves and shifts, so we take a look in the mirror at all angles. Anticipating the heal/skin type/wear and tear and the type of clothes you wear are all included in my design process, so having you in front of me is crucial for the design process.
If for any reason either one of us are hesitating about doing the tattoo during the design process, we both have the right to terminate the session immediately.
Our two brains and your skin all must be present in the room for the magic to happen. Anyone else you’ll bring will also be a strong ingredient. Trust the process, ask me any questions that come up, and request your wildest dreams. If I have any concerns for you I will lay them out, and I will always be looking out for your tattoo in these three categories:
1. elegantly beautiful / a matter of taste
2. fits your skin / how it moves and stretches as you move
3. stands the test of time / heals and we can still see what it is
4. Healing/ After Care:
The tattoo is permanent.
It will heal and become a part of your skin.
Lines will become more settled, get a little thicker, and slightly fuzzier over time. The ink will subtly change color over time and over even more time lines will get a little closer together.
I do not call any of what I described above “fading” or “bleeding” or “blown out” as commonly referred to. This is how tattoos heal. They’re healing as you age and grow and it’s normal for them to look different in 20 years time and so on. I design with all of that in mind.
After you first get your tattoo, I will talk you through the healing process and give you directions. You’ll keep your tattoo clean and moisturized for three days three times a day, and then moisturized with plain lotion once or twice a day for two weeks to a month, as needed. Keep your fresh tattoo out of the sun, and avoid soaking in water for at least 7-14 days.
